Applications are invited for a fully-funded PhD position in Guillaume Hennequin’s group at CBL (Cambridge, UK), in collaboration with, and sponsored by, MediaTek Research UK (MRUK). We are looking for an outstanding applicant with a strong quantitative background in maths, physics, engineering or other machine learning-related fields, as well as strong coding skills. Prior experience of machine learning research is also highly desirable. Whilst the research topic remains fairly open, we anticipate it will revolve around the problem of uncertainty quantification in deep learning, with a view of developing more robust and trustworthy AI systems. We are particularly interested in applications of Bayesian deep learning principles to nonlinear system identification from neural data. The PhD candidate will have the opportunity to intern at MRUK during the course of their studies.

To apply, please email both Guillaume Hennequin (gjeh2@cam.ac.uk) and Alberto Bernacchia (alberto.bernacchia@mtkresearch.com) before 15th February, with a CV and brief statement of purpose. We aim to interview for this position starting from mid February.
